Today, I noticed that the achievements of Mafia Wars are also added to be listed in the App Ticker.
Guess what? It says i have achieved 0 of 132 achievements achieved. Facebook/Zynga needs to do some fixing here to prevent misunderstandings..
It is also untrue that there are only 132 achievements in Mafia Wars, as shown in the above image.
If you actually took the time to visit the Achievements page, you will notice that there is a total of 144 achievements.
From the above screenshot, you can see clearing that i have achieved 141 achievements.
It is the App Ticker which is reporting the wrong informations to users who are viewing it.

How do you get rid of that app ticker? Can it be disabled?

There are some ways which you can get rid of the app ticker..
1) Install MWM Mod, it disables the App Ticker
2) Install some scripts which you find on userscripts to disable App Ticker.
