The Assassin has returned, so get ready to hunt him down!

The Raven returns!!

Ice players on the fight list to find and defeat the Assassin! The more you ice other players in fights, the greater your chances of catching a glimpse of the Assassin.

Q: How do I find the Assassin?

A: Ice opponents from the fight list. The Assassin is almost always in stealth mode, so be patient and keep icing.

When you pick up his trail, a banner will appear on the fight page giving you 2 Armagrenade and notifying you that you are close to finding him. Keep icing.

Q: How long does it take to find the Assassin? 

A: Finding the Assassin is extremely difficult because he’s stealthy. You will need to ice many players to hunt him down.

Q: Is there a time limit to find the Assassin? 

A: No, there is no time limit to find him.

Q: What will happen when I find the Assassin?

A: Once you have tracked down the Assassin, he will appear in the fight list, on the homepage banner and on the Operations / Bosses page. Once you find him, you have 8 hours to defeat him.

Q: Which Ammos (consumables) do I need to fight the Assassin?

A: You will need new Ammunition to fight the Assassin. The new Ammo will be available through various modes in the game.

Below is the list of Ammunition available once you find the trail of the Assassin:

Rain of Pain – Drops from Robbing (does not drop when the Raven goes into hibernation)

Nunchuk Flurry – Drops from Fights (does not drop when the Raven goes into hibernation)

Face Chopper – Drops from Jobs (does not drop when the Raven goes into hibernation)

Armagrenade- Drops on Icing (Only drops during the 8 hour period when the Raven has been discovered)

You can also purchase the Ammos using Reward Points.

Q: How much health does the Assassin have?

A: The Assassin is strong! He has 60,000 health. 

Q: How do I fight the Assassin? Is there a time limit for the fight?

A: Once Assassin appears on the fight list, you have 8 hours to beat him. During this 8-hour period, the Assassin will not heal.

 

Q: Do I need stamina to fight the Assassin?

A: No, you do not need Stamina to fight the Assassin. You will need to use the Ammos – Rain of Pain, Nunchuk Flurry, Face Chopper and Armagrenade to attack the Assassin and defeat him.

Q: Are there special combos to deliver an extra punch?

A: Yes! There are a total of three combos that can be used to deal incrementally more damage to the Assassin.  You must use the correct order of four Ammos (consumables) in a row to unlock four move special combos.

There are 6 different red C-C-C-combos when you fight the Assassin. That means the red combo that works for you may not be the same for your friends.

Q: What is the Reward for beating the Assassin?

A: You will receive Xtreme Assassin’s Jacket (215/140) once you beat the Assassin.

Q: Can I fight the Assassin again soon after I beat him?

A:  No. After the 8 hour period of discovery, the Assassin goes into hibernation. The hibernation typically lasts for 3 days after which you can find him again through icing players.

During this period, the Ammo will not drop in the game. You can however purchase Ammo from the Special Loot section of Marketplace at any time:

Q: Do I get any achievements for beating the Assassin?

A:  Yes, there are 2 achievements for beating the assassin:

Requiescat in Pace Primus (Earned by killing The Assassin once)
Requiescat in Pace Decimus (Earned by killing The Assassin 10 times)

Changes to Assassin Boss Fight: The Raven

Mobsters,

After careful consideration of your feedback regarding the Assassin Boss Fight, we'll be making the following changes, which should go into effect tomorrow evening:

1) The Sniper Shot drop rate will be tripled.

2) The third achievement, "Requiescat in Pace Centesimus," will be removed. (Note: Anyone who already accomplished this achievement will get to keep it.)

We'll post a survey in a few weeks to see how you feel about The Raven under these new conditions. Until then, track down the Assassin to check out the new Sniper Shot drop rate!

Knife = jobs
Bat = robbing
Knuckle = fights
Sniper shots = ice/kill players

Kill Raven for 500 Times? 1000 Times?

Actually there was 4 achievement for killing the Raven but Our achievement page only appear 3 of them.

1 of them which I call it the Ruby level (as I don't know the name) is in Zynga Servers

I guessing the 4th will not come out at all since the 3rd is already impossible to get it.

Delete the Requiescat in Pace Centesimus Achievement

A great idea that requests our support. Personally i think it is really hard to achieve without spending reward points. I know achievements were supposed to be challenging but thats just too much of a work.

The Return Of The Raven

He's baaaaack! Ice players on the fight list to pick up The Raven’s trail. He’s very hard to track down, but when you get close you'll discover special Ammo with which to fight him. The more you ice other players in fights, the greater your chances of catching a glimpse of him in the form of this banner in your fight list:

Keep icing opponents and you may actually get the opportunity to fight this maniac, which is presented in the form of this banner in your fight list:

If you decide to attack, you will have 8 hours to clip this raven's wings using the Knife Slash, Bloody Knuckles, & Crack Of The Bat boss fight Ammos plus the new Sniper Shot! These Ammos drop from jobs, fights, robbing, & ices, respectively. Unlike the Shotgun Blast that the Sniper Shot replaces in Assassin Boss Fights*, the Sniper Shot is NOT giftable. The only way to get those is from icing, which works out because you won't even get a chance to cook The Raven's goose unless you lure him to you by icing other players. If you fail to defeat The Raven within 8 hours after you've started the fight, he will retreat to heal for 3 days, after which you will be able to pick up his trail once again.

*Note: The new Sniper Shot is an Ammo used exclusively in Assassin Boss Fights. The Shotgun Blast will no longer be available for use in Assassin Boss Fights, but any previously collected Shotgun Blasts will remain in your inventory and will be accessible in future non-Assassin Boss Fights.

Missed the Boss Fight -- Assassin: The Raven?

If you missed the Assassin during his first round of appearances, don't worry because he'll be making his appearance again!



Update:

Q: I keep icing players, but can’t find the Assassin. Where did the Assassin go?

A: The Raven went into stealth mode and flew the coop on 6/20/11. He will likely not return to the game till early July.

Q: Why did the Assassin disappear with no warning?

A: A new boss fight will be released this week. The Assassin gets scared off and flees when a new boss comes to town. This was not messaged properly in the game.

Q: How will I know when the Assassin comes back?

A: The return of the Raven will feature more prominent in-game messaging and provide details on how to fight him.

The new Boss Fight is ridiculous.. not only that you have to fight & icing people to make them appear.. but the limit of time to defeat him is only for 8 hours and counting down..

The Consumable is not available on the Free Gift page yet.. etc etc..

Assassin: The Raven is our latest Boss Fight Event and it's going to be a challenge.  The Raven doesn't just rest on the Home Page Module for you to fight at your convenience. That's for sissies!  Look what happened to Roughhouse Rafael and Kassina Kunoichi, they got their asses kicked. The Raven is elusive and you must spend a lot of stamina to find him. You can't stock up on Ammo until he is ready.  Hell, you won't even find Shotgun Blasts on the Free Gift Page. We are well aware of your past strategies and how you use those Spocklets to laugh at our Boss Fights. The Raven isn't scared, but you should be! Q:  I was almost done beating the Raven and he disappeared along with all of my consumables. When he came back all my progress was lost. How can I get credit? A:  This feature was accidentally released and it was determined it was too easy. Stop crying and start farming. Customer Support can only compensate you 10 Reward Points for your lost consumables. Real men don't complain, they adapt. Stop bothering the Customer Support Agents. The Raven is laughing at you. Q:  The Super Moderator said that the feature was active for all players. I still don't have the Raven, why is that? A:  The Raven only shows himself when he is ready to fight. You must go to your fight page and start icing people. When it's determined you are a good match the Raven will appear on a banner to taunt you. He may disappear or he may let you fight. We have no control over the Raven. Q:  Ok, I beat the Raven and now I want to fight him again so I can get the achievements. Why can't I find him? A:  Again, The Raven only shows himself when he is ready to fight. Keep spending your stamina and playing Mafia Wars. Eventually he will appear (wink). Q:  Why aren't the Shotgun Blasts on the Free Gift Page? A:   We know what you all do with that thing called the Link-a-Nator and we don't like it. We want The Raven to be a challenge not a cake walk. Q:  I want to load up on my Boss Fight consumables but they aren't dropping. Why is that? A:  We wouldn't want this to be too easy so we designed it so consumable items only drop when you are actively fighting The Raven. If he isn't on your Operations Page, don't expect consumables to drop. Q:  I noticed there is an achievement for fighting the Raven 100 times! How the hell can I do that when The Raven takes his sweet ass time to appear in my game? A:  Silly Mafia Wars player. You all complained that the Boss Fights were too easy so we brought in a heavy hitter. You are mistaken if you think these achievements are attainable. Look at all the poor saps trying to get their What's After Trillion achievement. You may get them if you are lucky enough to be on line during a glitch, otherwise we just added them so you would feel challenged. Q:  What's with the weird names of the 3 achievements? A:  The Raven doesn't speak your language. The achievements are in Latin and translated below. Requiescat in Pace Primus Translation: I let you get me once so you would feel confident and spend Reward Points on Ammo and Stamina Refills. Requiescat in Pace Decimus Translation: I see you are still trying to find me for a second fight. Good luck with that. Requiescat in Pace Centesimus Translation: If you think this is even possible, we want what you're smoking. Hahaha, I like it, Jen! Hope Zynga read this FAQ and do the things right!

New Boss Fight - Assassin: The Raven

Check out your Social Module and you will be able to find this new boss fight.
This time, it is titled as "Assassin: The Raven".

Click on "Fight him" and you will be taken to the page where you can start the fight.
Also, in the page you are taken to, you can see the Reward for completing the boss fight and time before boss escapes.

Here is the page where you can begin fighting the boss.

To kill the boss faster, it is better to use Combos. I have unlocked all the combos, feel free to take a look -

Many of us are only interested in the reward, so here it is! -

I successfully beat the boss once, here is the popup i received -

For beating the boss once, you receive 1 achievement. There are altogether 3 achievements for this boss fight.

Here is the list of achievements for this boss fight. By looking at the description of the boss fight, does it mean we can beat the Assassin 100 times? Well, time will tell..
