Fighting Feature Update

Icing your opponents just became that much hotter as we roll out this exciting update to Fighting! We're putting all the fun into the fight for summer, so turn the ices' up to stay cool!

Q: What are some of the new features that are being introduced into icing?
A: When you attack another player on the Fight page in any city a new fight screen will launch that will make it easier to follow the progress of your fight and ice your opponent. The new screenview makes it easier to finish your opponents off!

Q: Can I heal when fighting with the new screen?
A: Yes! There is a Heal button located on the new Fight Screen which allows you the option of healing for city cash. After you have healed you can continue with your battle without interupption to the fight flow.

Q: How frequently can I heal during a fight using city cash?
A: The timers for healing have remained unchanged and you can purchase health restoration in the hospital at the same rate you were able to previously.

Q: Can I purchase a health refill while engaged in a fight for Reward points
A: No. You will need to disengage from the fight to purchase a health refill for reward points, however, please remember that you can also heal yourself in the hospital by clicking the Heal button on the fight screen.

Q: What are the fighting basics in Mafia Wars?
A: Player versus Player activity is one of the key features for Mafia Wars with fighting being the strongest element. For more information on the fighting basics, please click the following support link: http://support.zynga.com/cp_articleview?gameId=43&Id=kA160000000GnuzCAC

Q: Why are new features always released to a limited audience?
A: When we release a new feature into the game, we want to ensure that it does not create instability and functions in the way that it was intended. Although we try to release it to the wider audience as quickly as possible, it is imperative that we make sure that it will not interfere with your enjoyment of the game.

Q: Is it possible to be manually added to this feature by contacting Customer Support?
A: This feature is in the early release stages and agents are not able to manually add this feature to your account.

Q: Why has this feature been updated?
A: Our goal is to make sure that the game evolves to meet the demands of our players. By updating features we strive to create a better gaming experience for everyone.

Q: What is icing?
A: Icing is when either your or your opponents health falls below 20. When the health of any player falls below 20, they have been 'Iced'.

. You get iced when you or your opponents health drops under 20 points during a fight.
. You can lose a fight and still ice a player - you just need to keep attacking until their health drops below 20.
. Remember, you can heal yourself in the hospital if your health starts running low during a fight.
. Players who are grayed out on the fight list are already iced and will not count if you attack them.

Q: Can I lose a fight and still ice another player?
A: Yes. Although you may lose the fight, you can still ice another player if their health drops below 20.

Q: How come it seems like my health goes down faster during some fights?
A: It is possible that while you are attacking a player, that you are simultaneously being attacked as well. This would account for your health rate changing. You should also note that when attacking another player that they are also doing damage to you at the same time.

Q: What are the boosts?
A: Boosts are items that increase your attack or defense in a fight. Each boost can only be used one time.

Q: Can I control when I use the boost?
A: That is one of the new features with this update. Players now control whether or not they use a boost by choosing 'ON' or 'OFF'. This action can be completed from the new fight screen or from the fight list.

Q: Will I be able to purchase boosts from the Marketplace?
A: By visiting the Marketplace and clicking the 'Boosts' tab you will be able to select from a variety of boosts that are available for purchase.

Q: Where will see the loot drops that I am receiving?
A: You loot that you have won will be listed at the bottom of the fight screen. This area will also show the number of Victory Coins that you have received.

Q: Where do I see what items have been used in the fight?
A: In the same area that displays your your loot and Victory Coins you will see an area that states 'more info...'. By clicking that link the window will expand giving you the option to 'Show all Items Used' or 'View Opponent's Inventory'. You will also be able to select whether the fight screen floats above your fight list or attaches to it by selecting the 'float' link.
