wht does character enhancement techniques mean??
Perhaps they mean with the tools.. if you use the tools, it will make you easier to enhance your mafia.
For example : by using Job Helper, you will be able to help lots of your friends just by 1 click!
They don't like the idea, I guess.. :/
Today in the afternoon I checked my Mafia character just to find out that the app was hanging (MW auto player that is, yes, I admit I use it along with some others like JobHelper and AttackX), so I started playing manually and found that I couldn't do absolutely anything without a pop-up showing and to click the Accept button to keep playing. My guess is Zynga uses this pop-up to realize if you're using a tool since most tools don't see this and just keep doing the action they're supposed to do, if you were playing yourself you'd have to click it. I stoped using tools for the day and I will definitely not leave them working overnight like I used to, but I will get back to using them with a larger action delay and pausing after level-up. BTW the IP logged in this message is my neighbor's and my MW account and playing techniques are in no way related to the user of this IP.
bummer! Thanks for the info- I always do the collect boosts before playing- now I'm frightened- I'd FREAK if my account got cancelled-
I couldn't help myself- but the stockholm mafia tools collect boosts is still working for me (sigh) for now! the other tools haven't worked for me since moscow came out-account still good (keeping my fingers crossed)

If they ever bothered to play their game themselves, they'd very quickly recognize that truly enjoying their game using their shitty interface only is almost impossible.
Bookmarklets like AttackX, RepeatJob or RepeatGift provide functionality that should already be in the game, and now we should be punished for using these???
Thanks, Zynga, for nothing. They should at least tell us which actions got those users banned. From now on we can't ever be safe.

yes this really sucks, but it is a free game just for entertainment (and for zynga to get addicts to pay $ to get ahead in the games)
Everybody accepted the same Terms of Service when they signed up. For those of you who don't know that these scripts are considered cheating and against the ToS, I suggest you go back and read them. As for the rest, well...once your accounts are terminated the rest of us can get back to enjoying our game.

I'm with most people on this one. Only 7 accounts? Somebody got banned and didn't want to admit doing something they weren't suppose to be doing regardless. They needed to blame something so they blamed the tools instead of just admitting what they were really doing.
Facebook has way too many 'The sky is falling!' moments lol.

I would'nt play w/o script, as already said, the crapped interface takes too long to manage everything, we're not all on the dole with all day to waste you know zygna!, managing the scripts takes long enough - if i got banned then fuck them.
If they want to do this fine. They will be shooting themselves in the foot because I spent over $100 on the game in three months even using autoplayer. The fact is they wont ban me because they know they are making money off me. I almost hope they ban me so I can end this stupid addiction. I don't play any of their other games and will not start another (before mafia wars I swore off games and did not play for over 5 years (other than a few PS@ games with friends). Overall this is BS.. Fuck off Zynga!

i think the reason that they will banned people using scripts is because that they want us all to play manually,,, so what does this means? it means if we play manually the more time we will spend playing at their apps which is good for them because.. the more people visiting the apps or site for a long time will increase their profit.. on the contrary if we used scripts our playing time will be lessen in which they dont want that...
Only ever really used Helper and Collect Boosts purely because l could not be arsed checking through the list on FB to get told too late to Help.
Zynga should allow us to be able to see all friends with outstanding jobs.
Think that the scripts which allow you to play all night (autoplay) should not be used, the main reason for this is that whilst these are running it slows down the servers and all the normal people get affected. So good on Zynga stopping people who make it slower for me to play.
I also disagree with trading items for $ (sorry MW maniac) and l suspect that the people who look to make money out of MW use autoplay to generate so many items. Personally would not enhance character beyond normal play where is the fun in that.

for those who didn't follow discussions on Zynga's forum, using(and publishing links to) charts (weapon stats, job stats etc) made by others is also considered a cheat.

I doubt Zynga will ban too many people over scripts etc. people who use scripts are seen as daily players, the more activity on the game the better, regardless whether or not it is a script, advertisers can not and do have the ability to determine who is using a script. The mafia wars auto player has well over a million downloads, if even 25% of people still use it daily/weekly then it looks good to advertisers. Zynga don't make their money through people buying Godfather points they make the majority through the affiliated sponsors, you will see that $20 placed on the online poker sponsor earns you far more than buying directly. Like it or not, call it loyalty to the game or cheating people using scripts or creating additional accounts are earning Zynga big money.
haha, and to the guy way above, they won't ban a player that spends $100 on the game because they may do it again! Zynga will make an expected $250 million this because the money keeps rolling in!

I found it when i got up in the morning some days ago.
Now this account cann't login MW anymore.
I have checked the Mafia Wars Terms of Service.
There is an User rule that stated "except as may be the result of standard search engine or Internet browser usage, use or launch, develop or distribute any automated system, including, without limitation, any spider, robot (or "bot"), cheat utility, scraper or offline reader that accesses the Service, or use or launch any unauthorized script or other software"
I give up this account since there is nothing to argu with zynga. Rule is Rule.
Well, My facebook account got banned this week. I'm guessing it's cos I played mafia wars with autoplayer - but I don't really know for sure. I'll just get a new account is easy enough. I won't be playing Mafia wars anymore though I enjoyed the game... But it's takes up too much time. Thanks Facebook for disabling my mafia wars account.
