This is the single biggest change over Moscow.
Whenever you choose a side and do a job for that particular side, you receive experience that sways which the balance of the faction you side with. There are several progressive levels you can get to for whichever side you choose.
If you have chosen Yakuza, each time you do the ‘Yakuza’ specific job, you received 3 XP points towards the Yakuza faction; you also lose 1 XP point from the Triad faction. The same formula works in reverse.
Note : CELL Phones play a big Role here – YOU WILL NEED CELL PHONES!
The purpose of this is to allow the purchase of faction specific loot which has better attack and defense than any Moscow weapons. This loot can be purchased ONLY if you have progressed to the required faction level. You buy it with the cash you earn from doing jobs and opening businesses. The loot by comparison is very expensive and will take a long time to accumulate in quantity.
At this stage it appears as though the special faction loot is NOT giftable. Let's see if they launch Bangkok in full version.
At this stage you CANNOT fight in Bangkok yet.
Example: Yakuza OR Triad Faction - 1500 XP required to reach highest level, that's 500 jobs MINIMUM
Faction Levels -> Hostile - Suspicious - Neutral - Trusted - Honored - Allied
Faction Requirements
Hostile: 1-199/1500 faction
Suspicious: 200-399/1500 faction
Neutral: 400-699/1500 faction
Trusted: 700-999/1500 faction
Honored: 1000-1400/1500 faction
Allied: 1401-1500 faction
These are the various levels you get to depending on the XP you accumulate, as mentioned above, 1500 XP is required to achieve allied status. You can only gain this XP by doing the Yakuza or Triad specific job over and over. The rewards are good however ...

How to master each faction?
I chose Yakuza as my first faction to master, because I don't wanna get confuse with the additional +3 and -1 of each faction. You can try to max on Triad first, that's fine.. and then you can try to max on the next faction..
Basically it doesn't matter on which faction first.. one of my friend tried to choose Yakuza on first level and then Triad on the second level until he maxed out both factions. You can do that too!
In this way, you can figure out which faction can give you lower energy or else.. but I just don't have time to figure it out..

i think they should go back to moscow and add that feature there as well between the mafiya and the vory factions

yo mafia wars maniac have you ever though of running a main fighter account and then 2 energy account so that you can get all the best loot from everywhere in the game and send over to your fighter account
With fighting you can switch the factions, you know?
You are the faction, where you have the most points. So like you have 50 point by Yakuza, and 70 point by Triad. Then you are member of the Triad.
If you are from Triad, you fight against Yakuza. You will get also +3 points by Traid, and -1 by Yakuza. Just like by the jobs.
But if you are Triad, and you attack a Traid member, you will get -1 by Triad, and +3 by yakuza.
Just like the jobs!

Better get rid of your extra passports soon. Bangkok will go live (i.e. out of Beta) - maybe even tonight.
I belive this is a bad idea..... If there isn't better loot than the factions stores, then everybody will have the same equipment in a 4 months time..... And even if there is better loot in there somewhere, everybody will have at least attack and defence above 70.000 in the same time perspective. Trading is pointless, if even possible.... when everybody is equaly strong, than nobody is strong. same as having no weapons.... Bad idea. One of the worst!
I think one should take both Triad and Yakuza to TRUSTED level first. Then you'll be able to buy both kind of weapons in Faction Store ;)

why do you think that Faction Store "Loot" (Calling it "loot" itself, is wrong, don't you think? After all you buy it - like Towncars) will become giftable.
Only those items which one can get for free are giftable. Towncars are not giftable. It will be ridiculous to assume that the Faction store items will be otherwise, don't you think?
Having the best weapons in game store bought is just retarded. The game is becoming a joke.

fighting a/c's will never be able to afford the loot and energy accounts would.. .but they would have no use for the loot ...
Why does everyone jump to the conclusion that Store items will be the best?
In fact, I think it will not be even close to the best once the final Episodes are revealed.
If you take the calculation of how much cuba business cost and the money they provide, implement it onto the bangkok business, you'll realize it takes so much longer to actually afford the faction store loots, even longer than doing moscow jobs, which is just easy once you have enough energy.
well, theres a few more bugs in MW that work in our favor.
for instance, to me it happened that after sending a help request for new york i got awarded with 168 xp and 1.4 Million Baht !!
so i already upgraded the first 2 businesses and bought the other 2 (didn't have 300k left for the unlockable busi).
also how to allie both factions:
as said +3 -1 is the current pay
so how to do it:
pick 1 side, lets say Yakuza
do the Yakuza Job until you reach 1500, Triads will be 0
jobs required: 500
Yakuza : 1500
Triads : 0
then switch the faction:
jobs required : 500
Yakuza: 1000
Triads: 1500
switch again
jobs required: 167
Yakuza: 1500
Triads: 1333
switch again
jobs required: 57
Yakuza: 1443
Triads: 1500
done, allied with both sides, top store loot unlocked for both sides
total jobs needed: 1224 (use the second brawler or the criminal jobs for this, as the first brawler job requires cellphones)
I have both factions at honored and IT WON"T LET ME BUY ITEMS FROM THE FACTION STORE!!!!
I keep getting this message every time I try: This item is not available to your faction.
First I mastered triad bought some items then started working on yakuza and I cannot buy the trusted or honored items and the business is for yakuza is still locked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
I think it's funny that with all the bangkok loot now and the moscow loot available, that Cuba (aside from the cazador rifle) loot and mastery items are utterly useless and that all players should just skip it entirely. Unless you just want the satisfaction or titles, there really is no point to doing Cuba.
For me its +2 and -1 instead of +3 and -1 like you all are saying :(
