One friend has asked Zynga Customer Support about the limit of accepting Free Gifts in a day..
He had a Live chat with one of Support on duty at that time..

This is sweet! I thought we can only accept 20 Free Gifts in a day? Hopefully this information is true and implemented in the game..

Both are false. Its 200 :D
The limit of free gifts we can accept per day is 200. This has been verified and answered on Zyngs's Get Satisfaction site. I've tested this out and have been accepting 200 a day as well. Maybe they thought the question was how many free gifts you can send in a day? Or "gasp" they nerfed 200 down to 50. Haven't accepted any today.

i hope it is 200, some of my friends having 4 hours block after accepting 50 gifts. Still not certain what is zynga's line of action
I accept 200 gifts daily or even more....I never counted it but I just upgraded my port from level 3-> level 7 in a single day :)
The gifts you open from the envelop icon in your mafia page does not count towards this limit as far as I know :)
You will be surprised to know there is mafia glitch which allows you to collect 200 secret stashes in a day :P
