Al that means is that they got more xp than they needed to level. When you see that just click 'profile' and you will see you have leveled up and get to spend the 5 skill points.
It happens all the time .
It happens when u need only for example 20 experience to level up and u do a job which gives 200 experience
It will show -180 expericen but refresh it . It will have leveled up and Normal Experiences will be shown
You level up, it just means you went 772 experience over the level. Not a big deal
when you do a boss fight in NY or collect from a mission and gain a level it will show how much experience you carry over to the next level with a negative symbol in front of it. when you click on any other button in the game you will level up and have that experience carry over, not a glitch.
It's because he just clicked to complete the mission. Xp from mission is added and shows negative amount. If he goes to any page he'll be on next level. I hope I explained this :)

Its not a bug. It happen when you do some BIG job (like mission, cleto boss fight) at end of the level and you jump to next level:)
hey the negative exp is not a bug. it means by how much, one has exceeded by his/her level.. this occurs frequently when u do missions/boss jobs where exp shoots up way more than required to level!
